Life can serve up some fairly challenging life experiences and lessons from time to time!

Personal, relationship, business, financial and health issues can wreak havoc with our lives. Divorce and separation, custody disputes, death of a loved one, corporate stress, the loss of a home or job, or just the day-to-day overwhelm of today’s lifestyle, can challenge the best of us, as well as our mental, physical and sometimes spiritual health and well-being!

It is also a sad fact of today’s fast paced lifestyle that in Australia alone, it is estimated that 45% of people will experience depression and/or anxiety in their lifetime. In any one year, around 1 million Australian adults have depression, and over 2 million have anxiety. While depression and anxiety are different, it is not uncommon for them to occur at the same time, with over half of those who experience depression also experiencing symptoms of anxiety. Fortunately it IS possible to take control of your life and return to a state of wellness and bliss, by shifting our perspective and using the right tools and skills!

I have experienced plenty of life’s BIG challenges, and I know what it feels like to be lost, confused and numb from grief and pain. To be on top of the world one minute, and rock bottom the next. To be searching for answers on the outside to try to heal the numbness on the inside – and finding a reason to even get out of bed.  

As they say….“the Universe has shaken you to awaken you” – and I learnt from these “shake ups.” I grew from them, and every one of them have brought me to where I am today – being who I am, doing what I love, living a life of meaning and purpose, and following my passion!


REWIND TO DECEMBER 2014 ~ I was EXHAUSTED! I was NUMB! I was an EMPTY SHELL! I had NOTHING to give to anyone! I was suffering from Post Traumatic Grief, and I was DONE, and I couldn’t take another day of living in that deep black hole of grief and depression – I just couldn’t,

At that point in my life I figured I had 3 choices….

  1. I could STAY DROWNING where I was in that deep black hole of grief and depression – and probably never find my way out.
  2. I could STEP OUT of life altogether (you know what I’m saying here), or
  3. I could STEP UP,  work out this new “reality” and get my shit together.

I strongly considered option 2, but I couldn’t do that to my kids or my husband. They couldn’t cope with another loss so soon after losing Alex, so there was really only one choice I could make  – GET MY SHIT TOGETHER!!!

I didn’t realise then, but I had just taken the first step making the decision that I wasn’t prepared to stay where I was, and with that, I embarked on the journey of finding that “something” and taking back control of my life.


Each of our journeys through difficult and challenging times is going to be a little different. Everyone’s “life buoy” is going to be different –  but one thing I know to be true and constant is the tools, strategies and coping mechanisms that will take you from BLAH to BLISS are the same! By shifting your mindset you can take control of your life, and self awareness (consciousness) is one of the most powerful resources we have to create change in our lives- and in finding our inner bliss.

Unlike most other “life coaches” I do not believe in the one size-fits-all method.
